Our testers appreciated the ease of use offered by the side panel, that can be moved up and down with a single push of a button. This was particularly useful at night, as they could reach in and pick up their baby without waking them up. The side panel can be removed by itself however it isn't advised as it increases the chance of your baby falling out of the cot. The safety locking system guarantees that the side panel will stay down if it is connected correctly to the mattress of the parent. This feature is great to have peace of mind when you are breastfeeding and need frequent nighttime feeds. Telescopic legs enable the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, including divan bases or beds with drawers. It has a tilting feature for reflux babies, and a rocking function to help ease them into sleep after a feeding. It's also extremely large and has excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides. Our test participants found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, though it does have quite an extensive instruction manual. It's heavier than other side-sleepers, but it's very mobile and can be moved from room to room easily. It's small enough to fit into a travel bag when not in use, which is a bonus if you need to transport it. The only negative our testers have found is that the side panel did not move as much as other models. This caused it to be a bit more difficult to see the baby from your bed. It took us about an hour to assemble and was relatively simple.
